Oval Shape Semi-Mount Diamond Engagement Ring

An oval center and a rope-twisted band share a certain softness, both built on curves rather than angles. This semi-mount engagement ring brings them together, leaving the seat open for a stone of 0.85 Ctw to 1.20 Ctw and setting 12 round cut diamonds in prong settings along the shoulders in a fine, even line. Each is held open on all sides so light reaches it directly. The two metals turn against one another along the band, so the ring shifts slightly in tone as the hand moves, which gives a simple design something to hold the eye. Movement of that kind costs nothing in profile or in weight. Crafted in 14 karat yellow and white gold with a rhodium finish applied to the white gold, it is finished with a total weight of 1/20 Ctw.
