Nothing is wasted in the L, a single upright turning once at the base. This initial pendant sets 9 round cut diamonds in prong settings along both strokes, the light descending and then breaking cleanly to the side so the right angle becomes the whole of the letter’s character. Each stone is held open on every side, letting brilliance enter from beneath as well as above and keeping the slender form luminous. Crafted in 14 karat yellow gold, the warm metal traces the two lines with quiet precision. Its simplicity makes the setting unforgiving, since there is no ornament to distract from the proportion of the two strokes against one another. It hangs from a cable chain 1.00 MM in 18 inches with a lobster lock and extenders at 16″ & 17″, and is finished with a total weight of 1/6 Ctw.
