Through the shoulders and gallery, 20 round cut diamonds are prong set in a line that follows the elongated silhouette rather than fighting it, each stone left clear on all sides so light enters freely. The 14 karat mounting brings yellow and white gold together in a considered two-tone balance, with a rhodium finish over the white gold for a crisper contrast. A marquise carries more apparent size per carat than almost any other cut, and a mounting this restrained is built to let that advantage show rather than obscure it behind ornament of its own.
