Princess Shape Semi-Mount Halo Diamond Engagement Ring
Scaled for a larger princess cut, this semi-mount halo engagement ring holds its center seat open for a stone of 4.50 Ctw to 5.50 Ctw. Through the mounting, 56 round cut diamonds are prong set, gathering into a square halo whose corners align with the center outline and then descending the shoulders in a graduated line. The open metalwork lets light through from beneath as well as above, keeping every stone lively at close scale. A larger center also means a larger halo, and keeping that frame in proportion rather than letting it overwhelm the stone is the harder part of the design. Balance here is deliberate rather than incidental. Crafted in rhodium finish 14 karat rose gold, whose warmth softens the crisp edges of the setting, the ring is finished with a total weight of 3/4 Ctw.
