Everything in this mounting leads toward the empty seat, which is exactly what a semi-mount should do. The pear shape center is drawn for a stone of 4.50 Ctw to 5.50 Ctw, and 26 round cut diamonds are prong set along the shoulders and gallery in a line that tapers as it travels back. The open prong work leaves every stone clear on each side so light passes through rather than reflecting off the mounting alone. Rose and white gold sit against one another through the whole mounting, so the ring changes character slightly as it turns, one tone catching the light where the other recedes. Worked in 14 karat rose and white gold with the white gold finished in rhodium, it arrives with a total weight of 1/6 Ctw.
