Orientation decides how a pear sits, and the seat of this semi-mount engagement ring is drawn so the point will rest true along the finger once a stone of 2.75 Ctw to 3.50 Ctw is chosen. Along the shoulders, 20 round cut diamonds are prong set in a graduated line that narrows toward the back of the band, keeping the visual weight forward. The open settings leave each stone clear on all sides. Small as the taper of the shoulders is, it changes how the finished ring reads, drawing the eye forward to the point rather than letting the band compete with it. Rose and white gold are combined across the 14 karat mounting, the white gold given a rhodium finish, and it is finished with a total weight of 1/8 Ctw.
