Across the mounting, 55 round cut diamonds are prong set, encircling the center completely before flowing into the shoulders in a line that narrows toward the back of the band. The open prong work keeps each stone clear on every side so the halo never darkens at its edges. At this scale the ring is unmistakably an occasion piece, and the mounting is drawn accordingly, with a full halo and a continuing line of shoulder stones that keep the design generous from every angle.
