Scaled for a substantial pear, this semi-mount halo engagement ring holds its center open for a stone of 4.50 Ctw to 5.50 Ctw. Through the mounting, 56 round cut diamonds are prong set, following the rounded shoulders of the outline and gathering tightly at the point before flowing into the band. Each stone is held open on every side so light reaches it directly, giving the halo depth as well as brightness. The larger the pear, the more the point matters, since any irregularity in the halo becomes visible there first, and the setting is drawn to carry the frame through that narrowing cleanly. Execution shows itself at the tip. Crafted in rhodium finish 14 karat yellow gold, whose warmth flatters both the metal and the skin beneath it, the ring is completed with a total weight of 3/4 Ctw.
