Along the shoulders and gallery, 17 round cut diamonds are prong set in a graduated line that tapers toward the back of the band, keeping the visual weight forward where the center stone will sit. Yellow and white gold are combined across the 14 karat mounting, with a rhodium finish applied to the white gold for a brighter, cleaner surface. The pear rewards careful mounting, since its point is both its signature and its most vulnerable edge, and the proportions here are drawn with that balance in mind. Everything waits on the stone.
