Along the shoulders, 12 round cut diamonds are prong set in an even line that reads the same whichever way the hand turns. Every stone is left open on each side so light enters the pavilion directly. Simplicity carries its own risk, since there is nothing to distract from the proportions, and the balance struck here between band and seat is what makes it work.
